About The Studio

Studio Nelson was born out of the desire to help. I grew up as the technical troubleshooter in our family, which led to me learning code for fun. That, coupled with my love for organizing systems and all things art, lead me on the most fulfilling path I could have imagined.

You don’t have to do it all anymore. Hell, you don’t even have to do most of it. I’m here to help you set it, forget it, and live the life you quit that day job for.

our core values

teamwork

As a trauma-informed studio, collaboration is at the forefront of our projects. Every step will feel like you and I working together instead of a service provider barking orders at you.

transparency

accessibility

I'll always be clear and upfront about pricing and expecttions. You should always know exactly what's going on in your business and what I'm contributing to it. Always.

From payment plans to making sure my own website is optimized and accessible, I want you to feel considered. You should always be able to find the information you need in a clear and concise way.

Let me start with Tay is a genius with back end management systems and logistics. I needed a landing platform for a Mini Shoot Marathon and Tay helped me design a platform that accomplished time slot booking, contracts, and payments. I was fully booked in under an hour with contracts signed and deposits paid all without any issues.

This was also all integrated seamlessly into my already existing Dubsado account and my clients remarked multiple times about how easy the process was. Additionally, my clients all received confirmation emails with their chosen time slots and reminder emails about their appointments which meant not a single person was late or had questions about the process...”

“1/10 would hire Tay again for Dubsado optimization or specific project help.”

Quick Facts
A little more about me!

I’ve been working in the photo industry professionally since 2013 when I graduated college. Yes, my degree is in photography. No, I would not do it again.

I got married and quit my full-time job in tech in 2019 and I would do it over and over again. Making a living out of my creative passions has been so damn rewarding.

My 10-year-plan involves becoming a foster parent for queer young adults.

I used to think I was too good for reality TV. I’m very glad I grew out of that. Below Deck, anyone?

I read. A lot. Like, in 2023 I read 245 books. These days it’s mostly thrillers & queer romance novels.

I am technically bilingual but I'm shy about it so it'll never live on a resume.

There's nothing I love more than a magic show. My husband & I hired a local magician for our wedding.

My favorite dog is a chihuahua and I collect them like the precious little trinkets they are.
